ARGH! GODDAMN GERBILHUMPING SLIMECOVERED TELEPMARKETERS!

I AM SO SICK OF THIS!!!!

Every time I go out for a day (to work or school) I come home to 3 or 4 hangups on my answering machine that correspond to "unavailable" on my caller ID. Any time I stay hom for a day and don't sit on line I get interrupted by telemarketers or their equally evil cousins the sweepstakes people at least 1 time per hour.

Today I had one phone call interrupted by them. No sooner do I hang up on my other call then the phone rings. Guy tells me he is from some sweepstakes. I tell him I don't want to talk with them. He gives me a long speech about how rude i am and I should let him talk. I get the feeling he was trained to do whatever he needed to do to keep people on the phone and let him give his pitch. But here is what i know:

1) I have not entered any sweepstakes since being at this number
2) I don't enter contests over the phone because that requires giving personal info over the phone.
3) I wanted to eat my lunch, not talk to this yahoo.

There are a few kinds of non-personal phone calls that i will take. I will talk to people who represent companies that already provide me with a service. I will talk to people who represent charities though I will not donate over the phone. But they are usually willing to send me forms. Sometimes I will talk to people who are taking surveys if it sounds like a legit survey (ie not a prelude to a sales pitch)

If you call me about a contest or a product you want to sell me, don't you fucking dare tell me I am rude when I ask you to get off my phone. If I wanted to be rude I would hang up. If you are a telemarketer, or a contest rep, your whole JOB is rude. I know it pays well and you have a family to feed and all but make no mistake about it: You are a profession rude bastard.
