Make it stop!!!
Christmas music all day! AUGH! I actually like christmas music for the most part but after about 3 hours I want to hear something else!
I was sitting around last night feeling like the bored lonely non-christian on a night when everyone else is busy and then I had a revelation. My friend Gridley who I hadn't seen in 18 months would probably be at his parents house since they are a very catholic family. His parents house is about 4 miles from my apartment. So I looked up his phone number and sure enough he was home. I went over to his house, joined his family for dinner, and got beaten to a pulp in Monopoly. That was a much better christmas eve than I'd expected. Then I came home and tried to turn my old burgandy top black. It is now brown. I think I was too conservative with how long I left it in the dye bath so I'll give it a second go around in a week or so.
This whole holiday is bittersweet for me. Last year I was in Disney World with Wyndam; The best present I've ever gotten from anyone. A trip to Disney without my family was sort of a dream for me. Christmas day we met up with his mom and sister and his mom's boyfriend and had lunch with Winnie the Pooh and company. Somewhere in his mother's photo collection there's a picture of me with Winnie. I'd really like to get at it somehow. I only have a few pictures from that trip and none of them involve me and large yellow bears. I suppose I should be grateful for the memories. After all, I could have never had that wonderful experience.
Today is not all bad though. I slept in and woke up feeling quite well rested and relaxed. I have rented a bunch of fun movies, and I have a few people coming over to watch with me. I'm taking care of Windaer's cat so I get to go play with him in a little while, provided I can get off my lazy bum and leave the house.
