Long haired freaky people need not apply...

No it's not a post about injustice in the job market, it's a post about my hair.

I've been using Suave shampoo and conditionner for several years. It used to do a stellar job of cleaning my hair and keeping it so that a brush could get through it. Since it was nice and cheap, this made me very happy. Unfortunately it is failing to do so anymore. Normally I wash my hair every other day and that's fine. Currently if I skip one day, my hair is a tangled wreck on the second day. Hell, sometimes it is a tangled wreck later in the same day.

So I am looking for recommendations of shampoo. I need something that isn't too expensive ($5 a bottle stuff is NOT okay) and works well on somewhat dry, thick, curlyish hair.

Things I have tried before:

Salon Selectives - was okay but not great
Nexus products - made my hair greasy
whatever that stuff is that Wyndam uses that's in the purple bottle- tangled mess of doom

combined shampoo and conditioner are NOT an option. I look like I've stuck my finger in a socket when I use them.

Okay guys, fire away! :)
