So I need to get a haircut. Those of you who have seen my hair know that it is rather long and unruly and curlyish.... deliberately so. However there comes a time when the ends need to be chopped off.
I hate it when this time comes. I have a horrible fear of hairstylists who always seem to want to DO SOMETHING with my hair. If I had stick straight hair they would tell me to pay then $95 to turn it into what I already have.
I don't care if short cute cuts are in. I look stupid with short cute cuts. I just want the ends trimmed so it doesn't look so scraggly. It is nearly impossible to convince a hairstylist who thinks they know better that, really, you like your hair and are just trying to maintain the current look. Sigh
I still have awful memories of being little and telling the lady at the salon to just cut the ends and my mother would sneak in and tell her to chop off 6 inches and she'd listen to my mom. "Oh but you look so nice with your hair like this." Yeah but I HATE IT. It's my goddamn hair!
In college, I got a friend to trim the ends for free. I wish I could still do that but the friend in question lives in Texas now :P At least she did what I asked her to do.
