A momentous day for
shadesong
Mar. 4th, 2008 07:18 pmI met
shadesong about 2 years ago and began reading her LJ. After a few months I started reading her fiction. The majority of it was from something called Shayara. I became so fascinated by Shayara that I gave up three consecutive friday nights to sit around and read every piece of this story I could find in her journal archives. All told I probably spent about 10-15 hours doing that, and I recall being devastated when I realized I'd run out of stuff to read. Someone was finally writing the story I wanted to read. Today that story is being unveiled.
Shayara is urban fantasy, modern fantasy. It is the tale of the first city, the first people, and their search for their lost ancestral leader. And it begins with a bang!

He settled into a pose that was obviously familiar to him: bracing himself firmly, leaning back just a little, thrusting his hands out, palms forward. With a well-practiced flip of his long auburn hair, he focused on Johnathan’s video camera, doing his best to smolder. ”Aisling Fisher,” he said. ”Napalm. I blow shit up.” |
