Well....
My doc is out of town so I talked to the doc who is covering for him. I found out that my symptoms are a rare but known potential result of this medication. Between 2 psychs that I talked to, one had seen one case of it, and MY doctor had seen none until me. So the other doc cleared me to go off the drug and said she'd leave a message with my doc telling him that she had done so, and that I needed to switch meds. Fun fun fun. More time, more money, and more adventures with side affects.
On the up side, I have official travel dates for England and am now looking into flights. According to the british airways web site, the prices have gone UP since i first looked. Seems awfully odd given the situation. Anyway I'm gonna talk to a travel agent next week and make sure I get the best deal possible. I'm having my parents send me my money (they've been hoarding $700 in matured savings bonds and negleccted to mention it until last month) so I can buy the ticket without trashing my savings. Hey, it was gift money way back when; I'm buying myself something nice!
Wieeeeerd. Me doing international travel. Me flying transatlantic. I hate flying, I'm terrified of flying over water. It's a 7 hour flight. Oh boy will my knuckles be white. I think I will need to take dramamine twice as well. It will be interesting. Must make sure to leave space in suitcase for souvenirs (read: tea). I hope they will lift some of the baggage restrictions before I go because I may need to bring a sleeping bag and that plus a weeks worth of clothes is more than one bag.
SHOPPING IN LONDON!!!!!!
So last night was nice, apart from the feeling sick part. It was exactly what I needed. Lots of people eating lots of food and being goofy and Greyhame brought a cheesecake! And helped me with dishes! I could tell that my body was really at it's limit though. At about 11 I fell asleep on my bed sitting with Greyhame, and eventually I woke up and realized he'd been sitting there waiting for me to come out of it for the whole time. Poor guy. I've been a pretty lame friend lately, passing out every time he comes over. maybe that will stop now. No more evil drug means normal sleep, and hopefully the next drug won't do anything too crazy. Feeling better is GOOD.
