BLOGATHON IS COMING!!! July 26th!!!!

As many of you know, this year will be my first year participating in Blogathon!!! For those of you not in the know, a brief explanation:

Bloggers. Awake. For 24 hours. Posting every half hour to raise money for the charity of their choice. This year's event runs from 9 am July 26th to 9 am July 27th.

I will be joining shadesong, slipjig, rafaela, jennifer, milelaurel and a couple of others (I think, I'm not the team captain) on TEAM VENTURE!!!!!!! We will blog together and keep each other awake! Hijinks galore!

I will be blogging for Vital Ground (http://www.vitalground.org/) aka Blogging for Bears. Here's an explanation of Vital Ground's mission in the words of their founders:

"With the grizzly bear as its compass, Vital Ground works to reconnect fragmented landscapes in the U.S. and Canada critical to wildlife movement and biodiversity. Because the grizzly's range covers several hundred square miles—from alpine meadows to valley bottoms—protecting and expanding habitat and migration corridors important to the Great Bear benefits entire animal and plant communities in the wildest, yet most imperiled places left on the continent."

Put simply, they raise money to buy land that is undeveloped and then LEAVE IT ALONE. Simple, direct, does what it says on the package: making sure there is always a home for wildlife

I am seeking sponsorship for this event. Sponsors pledge what they can afford to Vital Ground assumimg I make it through this craziness. If you want to sponsor me here's what you do:

1) e-mail me at tamsin one at comcast dot net and tell me how much you are sponsoring me for. I will put your e-mail address and pledge on my blogathon pledge list
2) if you so choose, read my LJ on the designated days to see what my twisted leetle brain comes up with to fill 48 posts
3) After the event is over, go to http://www.vitalground.org/support.php?page=186.html and donate!

What could be more simple?

Also for those of you participating in blogathon, I am offering a pledge trade: If you pledge to me I will pledge to you. I can only pledge $5 per person because I expect I will have several people to support.

I encourage you all to pledge what you can, even if it is literally a dollar it makes a difference!
