Heheh, I'm blog #69.
On a more serious note, I chose Medical Students for Choice as my charity on the suggestion of several of you when seeking a pro-choice charity. Medical Students For Choice has as their central mission to assure that there will always be safe abortion available by training providers. I didn't realize until I started reading up on this after Dr. TIller's murder, but med schools don't necessarily teach doctors to perform abortions. A lot of abortion providers are nearing retirement. Will it matter that the law is pro-choice if no one knows how to perform a safe abortion?
When you're done with that consider sponsoring
shadesong as well. She's blogging for Boston Area Rape Crisis Center.

Blogathon clarification
Jul. 1st, 2009 10:07 pmThis year blogathon works differently than last years event. Last years was "unofficial" and this years is "official"meaning the website is set up to track pledges by blogger. When you click on this link:
http://www.blogathon.org/login.php?action=pledging&blogid=69
It will take you to a login page. You will need to create a username to pledge. When you pledge, the site will add your amount to my total which will be tracked on the site. When I complete the event, you'll get an e-mail directing you to the donation page for my charity.
Also,
tikva is polling the public to help her choose a charity and
jennifer will be participating!
