"Have I been traveling so long
That I’ve forgotten how to stop?
Why are my brakes all broken?
Wheels spinning out of control"

Her bags line the front hallway of his home. For the past few days she has sorted through the contents of the house for her scattered possessions. As she walks past her grandfather, once again watching tv from his recliner, she struggles with her tears She will wake up at 7 am and uncle Michael will come to take her to Shannon for her flight home. Orientation is in less than a week. Kaden's mother wanted her to shorten her trip but Kaden was adament that she squeeze in as much time in Connemara as possible before her return.

On her final night at Papa's, Kaden INSISTS that he come with her to the pub. He agrees, just this once, since she will be leaving. For what may be the last time, Grandfather and granddaughter play together, share a pint. Kaden returns to the house, makes a show of retiring to her bedroom, but when she is sure Papa is asleep she wanders out the backdoor, through the empty garden, back to the cluster of trees by the stream.

Orlaithe is waiting, the moonlight reflecting off the tips of her wings. Kaden collapses at her feet and lets out the sob she has held in for 6 weeks and Orlaithe wraps her arms around her.

"And in the mirror
Pale and deathly have become

Look… what have I become?
Become? Become? Become now?"

The sun pokes its first ray over the horizon and Kaden awakens among the weeds. Around her wrist is a silk like cord imbued with the words "I am sorry." She is alone. Brushing the dirt off her clothes, she creeps back into the house.
