The people from the Pat Brody Shelter called yesterday and said we could come in today and take home a kitty! So we drove all the way out to Lunnenburg and met about 75 cats. One of them crawled into my lap and refused to get up for about 15 minutes. I finally gave him to Eric so i could go pet some other cats. Eric proceeded to be trapped for the next 10 minutes. We had been chosen. Within half an hour we had Sam in the carrier and were driving him home.
Unfortunately Sam does not take well to long car rides. He got car sick so our first task as new cat owners was to clean up after that. Fortunately we have room deoderizer and soap a plenty so my car seats are all cleaned up, as is the carrier, and the cat. Since that little incident he's been doing fine. He found his food and water and the little cat bed that I made for him. (I'm nuts, insomnia got me up after 5 hours of sleep so I converted an old boot box into a cat bed complete with hand made cover.) We showed him the litter box and he's been using one at the shelter so I doubt there will be a problem there. He has also claimed my side of the bed. We may have to have a talk later.
Pictures when I have them, yay kitty!
