s00j being in the hospital with mounting medical bills and no insurance. For those of you who are not in the know:
SJ Tucker is an independent self-supporting singer songwriter. She and her partner tour the country continuously doing house concerts, club shows, performances at pagan and arts festivals and the like. SJ has also released two albums which are tie-ins with Kat Valente's Orphan's Tales books. She is also very dear to me and I've been concerned every since I found out she was in the hospital. Now she needs financial help to cover what could end up being tens of thousands of dollars in medical bills and buy herself some health insurance in case this happens again.
Unfortunately I am presently financially tapped out (once I have money I'll be sending her something). What I can do at this point is to help spread the word. There are more details in her livejournal, in the swc_fans lj community and in her partneromnisti's journal. You can donate directly or you can buy her music if you are so inclined.
I can also make the following offer: I currently have the yarn necessary to knit my traditional Jayne Hat for Charity (where traditional = I did this once before for a charity auction). Were I to be making this hat for someone I would charge them $30 including cost of materials. I've already got the materials so that brings it down to about $20 for the labor. However, I don't want the money for myself. If you want the Jayne hat, contact me. The first person who e-mails me saying "I want a Jayne Hat and I'll send s00j at least $20" gets the hat. I will have it done for you by the end of January.
