australian_joe I have surpassed my fundraising goal of $500!!!!!! I feel a second wind coming on!!!!!
Also the total for the event has surpassed $37000. I wonder, could we hit 40k? Its been going up steadily the past few hours.
I thought I'd talk about about the inspiration for the stories I posted earlier.
2 years ago I traveled to West Ireland. The trip was my 30th birthday present from my parents. I was afraid I had set myself up for failure but Ireland really IS the way they say in the brochures. If there is any place in the world where something supernatural or something out of myth exists, West Ireland would be it.
The character came to me as a 27 year old musician during a period of my life where I was rediscovering my love of music. When I explored her origins I found the Ireland connection. Kaden Shea has, as her core, the merger of my two greatest non-human loves. When I put them together I created someone who I knew could not possibly be human. The story that grew up around her was my personal take on the stolen child myth, placed in a landscape otherworldly enough that I can almost believe it could happen.
At 2 am, I think maybe it did.
